GOOD GRADES GO A LONG WAY

Tennis Success is a non-profit program for area youth that provides tutoring and education as well as training in tennis. Not only do we offer these opportunities at the Tennis Success Community Courts and Center, we also hold programs at several area public schools to give our youth the advantage they need.

Tennis Success is a thriving 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a solid board of directors and a generous private and public foundation donor base.

Tennis Success is also a recognized NJTL (National Junior Tennis & Learning) Chapter under the umbrella of the Corpus Christi Tennis Association, The USTA Texas Section and the United States Tennis Association Foundation.

OUR MISSION

Tennis Success exists for the sole purpose of enriching the lives of at-risk youth and equipping them to serve the community by providing tennis, education and healthy living programs.

OUR HISTORY

Tennis Success began as only a concept in January of 2000, that concept being a non-profit tennis program for underprivileged kids. The idea was that it would be free of charge and any kid who needed an advantage could come get educational help and learn to play the sport of tennis.

To help gain support, Father Filice and Joseph Kalenic wrote a flyer that introduced the notion, and from January to May of 2000, the founders mailed out handwritten requests to the community, asking for their aid. Since this humble beginning, Tennis Success has grown into a viable and effective program and serves hundreds of kids each year through education and athletics. To date, we’ve been able to reach thousands of kids and watch many of them go on to graduate high school and attend college. We’re proud of the work we’ve done so far but we’re just getting started.

Strategic Priorities for the Next Five Years

Tennis Success has identified four Strategic Directions for the next five years. They have been established to help focus our efforts on what is most important in meeting our mission and provide a better link to the actions we take every day.

Attract, Re-engage and Retain Tennis Participants of All Ages, Inclusive of Diverse Populations

Tennis Success, Inc. will establish, sustain, and grow active participation in the elementary, middle, and high school populations. We must continuously create, refresh, and deliver a portfolio of programs and experiences – social through competitive – that are accessible, satisfying and relevant to the lifestyles and stages of intended consumers.

Cultivate a Collaborative and Aligned Team of Volunteers and Staff

Tennis Success, Inc. will enlist dedicated volunteers and staff who work effectively together at all levels and across our organization. Provide developmental and educational opportunities that engage and inspire, ultimately enabling our collective team to grow the program.

Expand and Leverage Strategic Partnerships and Community Engagement

Tennis Success, Inc. will develop key traditional and non-traditional partnerships and sponsorships to expand education, tennis, and healthy living advocacy across the communities we serve. We must continuously demonstrate and communicate to public, private and non-profit leaders how these items add value to their constituencies and communities.

Ensure Continued Fundraising Growth and Performance

Tennis Success, Inc.’s program must engage in constant evaluation of current investments, exercise fiscal responsibility and explore opportunities that enable us to diversity our funding streams and ensure long-term financial health and stability.

Tennis Facility, Community, and Programming

Tennis Success, Inc.’s vision for the next 1-5 years when talking about facility, community, and programming is establishing a functioning morning program, week programs, and leagues within this time.
